2011 Buty Conner Lee Vineyard Merlot & Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley, Washington

If you’re looking for a prototypical, easy-drinking Merlot, this bottling is not for you. But if you’re simply seeking a sublime red wine, this vineyard-designated release will satisfy from the first sniff (high-toned tobacco, black olive, dark flowers, mocha, cinnamon) through the supple, satisfying finish. And in between, the sleek entry, fine-grained tannins after mid-palate, and blackberry and boysenberry flavors make for a sublime wine-drinking experience. Cabernet Franc fans who appreciate a little French flair will love this wine.
