2012 Matthiasson Rose, Napa Valley

Matthiasson has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting talents in California, producing minimalist wines that combine the elegance of the Old World with the intensity of the New. Focused and delicious, this rose offers up a seductive, subtle nose of crushed berries and white pepper. Outstanding acidity makes it a perfect wine for the summer, and despite a medley of berry-citrus flavors, it shines through as exceedingly quaffable. Very good.
