The steady but reasonably temperate heat of the 2011 harvest is showing here, with pipe blackberry fruit and crushed black pepper. Still relatively young, this wine is edged with apparent alcohol, moderate acidity and vaguely furry tannins. Still, at $16.99, there’s plenty of apparent fruit to satisfy even New World wine drinkers.
