2010 Diamond Ridge Vineyards Petite Sirah, Lake County
Glass-staining opaque black/purple in hue. Despite the brooding color, the nose is boisterous and bright, with black pepper tinged blackberry and raspberry fruit, along with dried spice notes. The medium-grained, earthy tannins blanket the palate and linger in the mouth. No signs of heat, despite 14.5% alcohol. Enjoy this red in its brash youth with a chunk of charred red meat.
