2009 Bella ‘Barrel 32’ Zinfandel, Sonoma County

Nearly opaque red-purple color. Throwing considerable sediment already. Only four barrels of this reserve-style Zinfandel were made, and the quality is apparent. Deep aromas of black cherry liqueur, briary blackberry, black pepper, cedar and a whiff of scorched earth promise a rich, concentrated wine. It does not disappoint. Palate coating, it shows dark, sweet, fleshy fruit in the mouth. The finish lingers, with sweet tannins and a touch of heat.
