2008 Diamond Ridge Vineyards ‘Aspects,’ Lake County

A Bordeaux-style blend with a splash of Petite Sirah added. Translucent bright ruby in hue. High-toned mint-menthol, tobacco and spice play off of pretty red berry and cherry liqueur aromas. The fruit holds its own on the palate, where soft, earthy tannins help define the mouthfeel. A balanced wine that may surprise given a few more years in the bottle.
