2010 Sonoma-Loeb Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Translucent ruby color with violet hues. A bowlful of ripe cranberry, dark cherry and raspberry jumps out of the glass at first sniff. Once in the mouth, the wine spreads out and picks up cola, then adds powdered chocolate toward the finish. This red is polished, powerful and bordering on hedonistic. Enjoy now with a seared duck breast in a cherry reduction sauce.
MSRP: $42 (May 2012)
