2010 Graffigna ‘Centenario’ Malbec Reserve, San Juan, Argentina

Nearly opaque purple-plum color that lightly stains the glass. Always classic and a stone bargain, this vintage is showing a new layer of refinement to complement the brash fruits. Aromas and flavors include perfumed violets, blackberry, currant, pomegranate, black pepper and a faint whiff of mint. The use of 50% oak barrel aging adds a touch of roundness. In the mouth, round, medium-grained tannins add a note of chocolate. With this vintage, Graffigna has established itself as a benchmark estate in terms of high-quality, affordable Argentinean reds.
