Nearly opaque dark ruby/plum color. A sweet varietal nose of blackberry and black currant fruit is nicely framed by vanilla, chocolate mint and menthol. Medium-full in body, the wine picks up tobacco, black licorice and black cherry notes in the mouth. The fine, dusty tannins at the finish do not detract from current consumption, but promise to provide pleasure over the next five to eight years.
