2009 Hess Allomi Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Solid dark ruby in color. The toasty nose shows plenty of the winemaker’s finishing touches — clove, nutmeg and vanilla. Behind that comes ample jammy plum and currant fruit. Soft and supple on the palate, the wine finishes with integrated, fine-grained tannins. Ready to drink now and through 2018. Roasted red meats with a red berry sauce would make for a nice pairing.
MSRP: $28 (May 2012)
Wine Lines rating: 89
