2008 Enkidu Pinot Noir, Kiamberell’s, Russian River Valley

Transparent cherry color. An initial whiff of new, spicy oak gives way to a bowlful of red cherry, cranberry, and raspberry fruit, followed by light notes of green tea and orange rind. Feminine and silky in the mouth, the lively acid leads to a juicy, sweet-tart fruit finish. This Pinot noir shows off the balance and litheness possible in the cooler climes of west Sebastapol.

MSRP: $45 (December 2011)
