We fully expected this to be the biggest, thickest Shiraz ever. Were we wrong! Instead of head-banging power, this wine is one of complexity and elegance. It starts with brassy high notes of mint jelly, picking up percussion notes of root beer and black licorice, then reaches a crescendo of sweet, extracted blackberry and blueberry on the palate. All the while, it maintains a sense of precision and elegance.
