2002 Brancott Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough

A wine that is sure to be controversial. Light straw color with a green tinge. A perfumed nose — is it musk? Soap? — along with jalapeno pepper, gooseberry, grapefruit, stone fruit and figs. There’s a nice crispness to the acidity, while the palate has a juicy-fruit quality. If you don’t mind the French milled soap in the nose, you’ll love this one.
